Institute of Management Studies is the re-engineered version of 30 years old Management Studies Department (Established in 1971) of Himachal Pradesh University, located in Shimla, the historic educational centre of Modern India. The Institute has taken a leap by incorporating the content of IT enabled electronic business management into its training programmes. For this purpose, a strategic alliance has been struck with DOEACC, a leading IT training establishment in this part of the country.
Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from our University have excelled in the business world as professional managers and entrepreneurs. In keeping with the global environment of business, we have re-engineered the management development process in the Institute. Large number of foreign students from South Asian, Middle East and African countries have been trained in the University Department. The Institute is trying to reach out to the over-seas students community, especially the wards of Non-Resident Indians (NRIs).
The Institute is proud of some eminent personalities in the field of management education who were associated in its establishment and development, but we don't believe in hawking our rich tradition alone, we continue to seek outside support for keeping our training and development effort up-to-date.
Excellent climate, State of the art, infrastructure facilities and a beautiful location make learning in our institute a unique experience. The Core Faculty comprises of about twenty trained management graduates with reRESULT qualifications. Instructions are supplemented by distinguished guest faculty drawn both from the Industry and Academic World. Total Quality Management is the hall-mark of education in the Institute.

I. T. ORIENTATION

The LAN of the Institute is presently connected through the BSNL (Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd.) with the Cyber world . The institute has its own website, www.imsshimla.org. The class rooms, faculty rooms and IT Lab is connected through a LAN. Internet facility is available to all. Further, The institute has strengthened IT - enabled electronic business management by a strategic alliance struck with DOE ACC, a leading IT training establishment in this part of the country.
